New York and other things

let me clarify.

The night before the new york trip was spent smoking massive amounts of pot with my friend, Andrew. He is a rather stoic creature; not too harsh or needy. His beard covers most of his face, and I can hardly see his lips, so when he smiles, the only way i can tell is by his eyes. Now, they are profound. Big and heavy, black when in the dark, but brilliant with green in the light. They nestle between two rows of beautiful black eye lashes that arch gently towards his Romanesque nose. Long blond hair like a 7 year old girls, but rugged like Greg Allman. Very suiting.

He speaks low and soft. Rather conservative in language, but wild and indulgent in mind. He still needs time to warm up to my peculiar way of living, so I'll know more of him eventually. But for now, he is a tall, thin shadow to me, and his heat is just the spring coming, not of real flesh and bone.

I was drunk, taking pictures of a tennis racket on my wall when he came in. The christmas tree lights were on, sparkling against the pictures and MAC3000 banner stretched across the wall. He had entered my dream world, as a brave experimentee. I knew it was strange, and I only hoped he would fit in nicely with me. He rolled a blunt in the kitchen while I danced around to my new favorite song, Bankrobber, by the Clash, in my green sunglasses. I made him a delicious vodka cranberry and he passed me the blunt. We sat in the living room after that, just being really stupid. And to tell you the truth, I can't remember most of the things we did or said. We listened to Matt's southern gospel music on his record player and talked of random inventions. Silly things. I remember laughing a lot, and turning to him to see his smiling eyes all big with fuzzy euphoria. I thought maybe he was an apostle. We parted, late. And i had to be up in 3 hours for the trip.

5:15 came, and i opened my eyes, feeling as if i had just closed them to rest seconds before. I thought maybe I couldn't make it. The dark was nipping at my exposed skin, everywhere the blanket wasn't covering. eyes stinging and muttering many curses, I got ready, made Greg get up (he was going too, but usually decides not to go at the last minute, even though he's already paid) and then we were gone. Minutes later, I passed out on the bus. We arrived in the city at 9:10 am. Items in my purse: wallet, chapstick, water and a peanut butter and jelly sandwhich.

Most of the day was full of walking. Just Greg and I, going to galleries, getting lost on elevators. Trying not to get run over. We spent 2 hours or somethign in the MOMA in order to get our $12 worth of art-lookin. At the end of it, we collapsed on a giant bed couch we found in the museum lobby. We started a revolution as many others began to lay on the bed couch. Some napped, others played cards around us. We just talked about the ceiling a lot, and our dreams. Big waves and strange contraptions falling from the sky.

The city is a wonderful bustle of people and machines. Even the buildings seem to crank out strange fumes that mose about through the streets. I felt sealed within, like a dome, completely distracted from the rest of the world and everyone else seemed numbed out of believing the rest existed at all. Death to the tourists. Stay here forever!

We eventually found our way downtown. Got lost. Finally found a place to buy some friggin cigarettes and red bull. It was a peaceful part of town. A place I could live, I think. More families and people walking their little prissy dogs in sweaters. We sat in starbucks for a minute, trying to fix my glasses that had broken. Then we met up with Greg's friend that lives in city, Alicia. Very cute girl. The bar was called Emerald something and they played good music with the lights down real low. We drank a lot. Hoegarden was 3 bucks so Greg and I got drunk. Greg was going for shitty.

She left for the train to take her home to Jersey, and Greg and I got lost on the subway. Dumb drunks!

We found a diner closer to where the bus was picking us up. Ate a quick snack of mozarella sticks and pabst blue ribbon. We then quickly transfered to a bar right in front of where the buses were picking us up. We each chugged another beer, and made our way into the bus at 9:04 pm. We were supposed to have left by 9.

After a long, drunk journey, Dani and Ben wanted to come smoke more at my place. I had also invited Andrew but my phone had died, and I didn't know what would become of him. A train was coming, so we drew on the closed gates, then Dani tried to hang on it as the train chugged away and the gates came up. A cop saw us, threatened to arrest us. We were laughing at him becuase he was only my size, and he was very timid. Eventually he stopped harraasing us and we ran off screaming with laugher.

Came back to my place, and Andrew was there already. Good boy, he just let himself in and hung out with Matt. And Matt, our neighbor. Matt is living with us. The other one.

They were playing chess. I didnt understand. I walked in and collapsed on the couch. We smoked out of Greg's bong that he made, told stories about my journey and then I was awake again.

Everyone started fading out of the living room until it was just Andrew and I. We watched Wondershozen and cuddled under a blanket. Sort of cuddling. Very close, arms touching. But not hands. I do this weird thing, where I imagine loving the person as if I've loved them forever. So i decided that if I ever do love him, i will be glad of this slow crawl towards touching and butterflies. My heart hurts badllyyy for affection, but im much too frank for him. much too blatant and crude. I can't even decide if he's handsome, but something in his deep voice sounds like a place i've been. Like, a place i could crawl into and fall asleep. I'm not sure what it is yet, but he's curiously appealing. But I can't say much else for now.

I think he might be asexual.

wow, this story turned out to be about something other than what i intended ....
stories told, lessons learned.

somebody tell me the moral of it all.

Seriously.

hahahahahahaha

the new york trip was awesome.

epic! woooo~

hiding in my bedroom, and sudden desire to climb out the window

im trying to hold onto these moments.

on my roof, the architecture divided around me. the rubble, the desolation. the thin, knobby branches curl up to the sky, heavy with mourning purple tapestries, soaking up cloud tears, only to shed them on us as we sleep.

the glow from the window falls into geometric shapes on the ground, cascading onto the pressed blades of grass, all smooshy with mud and rotting leaves. shriveled little lawn.

the green light from the backyard casts an eerie shade. I glance over my shrub kingdom from up here on this roof. scattered logs, broken chairs. broken glass. speckling of cigarette butts, all disintegrating into this valley of shrub. up here in all my glory. too close to the edge, too high. too high ... the shrub i must leave, climb back through the window. the smoke has caught my nose, and the tears have started to drip atop my head.

For the record, this years valentines day single was the most fun i've ever had on this particular holiday. My friends are amazing and at least I've still got my magenta hair to attract brisish accented, George harrison look-alikes that are photographers and good kissers.

yay!!!

its better now.

he wasn't in love because of the situation. not because he didn't like me. he even said i didn't do anything wrong, and that he still loved me ... we just can't be together.

and i've been thinking that this is what we both needed. i need to be more independent, more sure of my self. and i was never going to accomplish these things without this. i'm too young to be tied down, afraid to part with him. and i even said it wouldn't bother me to be apart from him as long as he still wanted to be with me someday, but god i know thats bullshit.

i need to figure out what the hell im in the long run for ... and i cant hide behind anyone anymore.
and it hurts really bad to think about how hard its going to get to a point where i feel good about it.

but i need to.

we're keeping our options open. we're going to be friends someday soon, and we might even date other people. he might go to china for a year. go far away from me. i might move to the city, we might go in completely opposite directions.

but we agreed to not forget that we once were very happy together, and that maybe (really, just only maybe) after we get this shit figured out, we can be happy again. months, years. who knows. im really scared to think about it now, but im going to live for quite some time after the hurt stops. and only one small piece of my life has passes thus far. there are bigger fish to fry, and i'm not going to rush being in a deeply loving, real, and permenant companionship/relationship until i get myself inorder.

only time will tell what becomes of Jack and I.
but for now, im going to do what i want and can because i can do it. because i know i can, and i will.
he will be with me always. as someone who means a lot to me, whether we are in love, or just very good friends.

he is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. he pushed me, challenged and taught me, then he let me go. because he cared about me, and didnt want me to give up anything for a reltationship that wasn't making either of us happy anymore.

i thank him in ways. and one day, i'll look back at this and thank him in many more.

so my working conclusion is that i will be fine. i will come out as a better girl, and maybe he'll come out a better boy. and we'll both see how good we've become, and this will all be worth it.

but even if we never get back together, I will be ok. I will not be lonely forever.
and hey, I already got asked out on a date by a complete stranger today, so i guess i dont have to worry :)

this is not going to kill me.

im not sure what to make of this anymore.
i've wandered from the point of complete collapse into a state much more subtle, but still bubbling with anger underneath.

i do not forgive him for doing this to me. no one deserves to be dragged along, waiting for a word, a sign, anything for a month ... told to keep waiting, waiting for the turn around. waiting for the light bulb to come on, the heart to warm, the blood to flow. no one deserves to be given hope one day, then have it torn from you the next. a bipolar change with consequences. cruelllllll so cruel. and even though hypothesized, never was it real to me that he could leave. that he could leave for a lack of love. that he could say i just went dark. inside and right before him. I asked, "even now? when you see me? can touch me? when you look in my eyes?"

he shook his head, bit his lip. and my heart endured a series of silent explosions. sputtered and sank in between my ribs. floated and seeped. sank. sank.

to lay next to him the last night. watch him sleep. watch him dream carelessly. not of me, of my hurt. not of my love for him, my aching to touch him, for him to hold me ... the first of my many pains.

to watch him leave. walk out the door, the second.

to wait for him to hear my violent sobs and return, just one last time ... only to hear the back door slam. footsteps outside ... the most painful, the third.

i have been strong. no calls to him. no drunken texts, no desperate emails.
and yet, none from him. my doubts of his decision as being impulsive are dashed.
i am beginning to see that he will not be coming back this time.

his things, I packed. and hid them in the spare bedroom. i still sleep in his bed, regrettably. and i must try very hard to pretend its not.
the letters he wrote from london. the promises. the love. lve. lka;awkf l;waf
and they're gone too.
thrown into a box. for him to throw away if he pleases. i cannot bare to destroy them. hope?
no. just fear. denial. all those bitter spices.

i feed his fish. i hate them. dont want them to die, but i hate them.

i have been strong. only cry in front of people when provoked. only accept help when im drunk, and afraid i might do something stupid if not comforted.

my sense of history is destroyed.
i cannot remember good times, bad. i feel that im in a tunnel and the lights turn off behind me as i pass underneath them, warning me not to return.

and i cant. voluntarily. however, strange things remind me of him and i cannot help but look back to catch a glimpse of those snap shots of good.

william shatner.
men with beards.
girls that look like his public allie friends.
wrist bands
lucky charms.

every piece of my day is lived with a hunched protective posture. i cannot expose myself too much to anything, for fear it will turn me into mush. a gloppy, sniveling puddle of pathetic girl slop.

in class. during a song. when im in the shower. when i take a drink of water ... it comes and goes unplanned, uncalled for.

and I MISS him so much. I miss him. i can hardly stand to exist. to put up this front, to go to class, smile at my professors, take notes in my book. i am disgusted with it all.

i know, deep down in my heart, that this needed to happen for him. he would never appreicate me if i wasnt actually gone from his life.

so now. here it is baby. here is the grand prize.

you are lonely, scared, and PROUD. through it all, you probably feel relieved! Good! Im glad for you!

give it a month. give it longer. look around. see me live without you. see me make do.

i'm waiting for you baby.

Coward.

you gave up what you announced to a whole room full of strangers that i was the best thing that ever happened to you.

for what?

lord strike me down if you even know.

pit

So the greatest fears have come, and i am crushed.
my chest creaks and moans and builds pressure each time i pass over these thoughts of loss.
i can not make them go.

everything i consider is now cold and withdrawn. painful and throbbing like a collection of irritated sores.

oh that moment. that one feared moment i thought would never come.
it came, and came again and again. AND AGAIN and not enough release would escape from my eyes, not enough comfort could come from his stone still frame.
no longer any touch to heal me, no longer any will to heal.

he is gone now. he has lost what he once loved in me and i dont know where its gone.
but it is. ohhh god it is.
and the sting and the heavy and the burn and the desire to SCREAM cycles in out through these days
and i dont know if i can bare to see if it gets any better.

oh my god.
this hurts more than anything i ever thought this body could endure. im waiting for the breakdown. almost begging for it now.
almost ready to make it come faster myself.

oh beautiful boy. oh my life. oh my crushed . crushed.
it is taken. alllll this. taken from me. and ahpriuuut8 yhnjb mmmmmmmujhkj

try againyeneyenyenyen

i just wanted to say some thing before i go to bed.

people don't get wiser just cuz they're older.
Folks is a plain- people is a place.
ive never felt more at home than being with your faces,
your crazy faces. your jackets, your bracelets, your dimples, your shoe laces.
your worn jeans, your soft skinned arms, your glazed over eyes, your slur, your drunken caress.

i love this enviornment, your blasphemy. your chastity. your sober thrust.

you dont grow up to grow love. love is born, and you learn. you wake up to a golden morning, chained with bedsheets, too sleepy to move. and
you see the sun creep across the walls, slowly, planned with time. eyes roll past and through- turning over the space, thorough and clean. you turn your heavy torso, rolling to the other side. and the shadows, still magestic. and you smell morning. morning. and you think.

god im so lucky to be alive. like its finally a privilege, not imprisonment.

people talk, with no truths. they suck in the ugly, spit it out just as quick. make a mess of the place.

for shame!

people talk, and thats why i dont listen anymore.

NO, honey

My favorite part of the evening
was the drive.

a cool, gush of stuff -
a swindling of the road, the rocks, and the rough all in a long piece of memory, too long. too elastic.

my tits, oh No honey, you're pretty, but they are what they are, i say touche.

not one for words.
just the sting of a kiss greed wants you to miss.
and i'm there, trying to reinstate my self joy, self providence but all i can think of is sex.

i wont tell you im too poetic for sex. its just as poetic as the bite marks on your neck, the train of kisses beneath your belly button, the muscle jumps, the bliss. Im not too proud to talk about sex, and how twice against my poster, I . I. oh nevermined, you were there.

and now im here, cloudy in there.
now im tired, but writhing with writhe!
and im not too poetic for sex, but no words come.

sky shade

i like to plug up my hear holes with noise,
walking down the dimming streets all blue with post-sunset, a spacey melody stirring up smooth waves of atmosphere in my brain.

and the world goes past me silent. in all its real movements, stiff and mechanical, i still can tred across the ice, splintering the puddles as i go.

feet dig down against the sidewalk and all things fade behind me. The woods, the yellow shades of the street lamps, the bridge- now in mist, sleeping.

the dark field by the road is covered in snow and shadow. it spreads out in front of me like a river widening when it rains, creepin up the hill, washing out over the street. Filling up the buildings, drowning the tallest trees.
Desire. for my feet to be consumed in gushing water, to watch my knees weaken in the cold. to let my head fall back and the water to flow. to lift up this girl, carry her back to the river to float alongside the shadows from the reeds.

i open my eyes to brightening stars nestling into the sky shade.
i bask in the cool glow it casts and think
what a fool am i.
